Huntin’ with Jacob, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is proud to host our 2nd Annual Youth & Veteran Waterfowl Hunt. This free, community-centered event introduces youth and veterans—many for the very first time—to the traditions of waterfowling, conservation, and safe firearm handling.
Last year, we welcomed 51 youth and 3 veterans for a day of hunting, camaraderie, and outdoor skills training at River Land Farm on the Patuxent River. In 2026, we’re expanding our reach with a goal to introduce 125–150 youth and several veterans to the outdoors, with guided hunts across Southern Maryland, the Eastern Shore, and north of Baltimore.
We may not be able to accommodate all applicants. We will reply to all who apply.
Please ensure that you have a legal firearm and appropriate, nontoxic ammunition for the hunt. If you have questions or need assistance securing these items please contact us at

Insulated clothing and insulated, waterproof boots are required.
A prehunt mandatory meeting will be held February 1st, 2026, location to be determined.
A parent must attend with the participating child. Required forms will be completed, you will be introduced to your guide, and given a time and place to meet for your hunt.
The hunt will occur on February 7th at locations across Southern Maryland with a luncheon to follow at Riverland Farm in Dunkirk from 1pm – 5pm.
